A király kénytelen-kelletlen feleségül veszi a lányt, már-már meg is barátkozna vele, ám a királyné egyre szomorúbbá válik. A pock-marked, aged and lame girl manages to do it with the help of a devil but she must promise that she will be his woman both physically and spiritually a year later unless she finds out his name up to that time. The king marries the girl willy-nilly and they are becoming friends but the queen is getting sad more and more.
