Glenn Gould chooses a piano at Steinway & Sons (New-York, 1959)

  • If there is no doubt great acoustics can enhance the quality of a musical experience, a good performance cannot occur without the use of a great instrument. That is why we have the chance to witness the highly sensitive and famous pianist Glenn Gould headed to the Steinway & Sons piano shop on New-York's 57th street to choose a new companion for his upcoming recording sessions and concert.
A joyful clip extracted from the short documentary "Glenn Gould - Off the Record" directed by Wolf Koening and Roman Kroitor in 1959.
Original documentary by National Film Broad Production, presented by the CBC.
